Qimo: What NOT to DO!

  1. DO NOT pronounce it "keemo," Qimo is pronounced "KIHMO" as in "Kim" or "him."
  2. While it will generally not be harmful to install updates which Internet-connected computers will find under the Qimo Menu/System/Update Manager  tabs, you should avoid downloading or installing the "New distribution release 9.04" (or any other number) unless the Official www.Qimo4Kids.com site announces a compatible update in Qimo. As of this date, upgrading the system to Xubuntu 9.04 will cause Qimo to stop operating properly.
  3. Take caution if adding software found under Menu/System/Software Sources. Some of these packages can interfere with Qimo.
  4. If the computer is used for word processing, spreadsheet or other files not managed under Qimo, store them in the "Documents" folder, so as not to clutter the Qimo Desktop.
  5. Better yet - prepare another computer with Xubuntu and leave the Qimo computer for the kids!
